End of Life (EOL) – SAILOR SART II

By 13. February 2020No Comments

The SAILOR SART II (part number: 56.840) has been part of the Cobham SATCOM GMDSS offering for more than 15 years and has now reached EOL.

Since 2012 Radar SART such as the SAILOR SART II has increasingly been replaced by an AIS SART – such as SAILOR 5052 AIS SART (part number: 405052A-00500).

The SAILOR 5052 AIS SART is fully GMDSS approved and provides a much more accurate positioning for sailors in distress.

SAILOR 5052 AIS SART provides a series of advantages including:

1)    A wider signal range

2)    Avoids rain fade effects as seen on Radar SART

3)    Provides GPS coordinates of the survival craft

4)    Longer Battery Life

5)    Lower Cost of ownership

SAILOR 5052 AIS SART is a fully GMDSS approved Search and Rescue Transponder and is already available in our product portfolio.
